We’re currently looking to recruit a Head of Investments to manage the Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrator (SNCPFA) Investment Portfolio within acceptable risk parameters and in accordance with Shell Group, SNCPFA policies and relevant statutes. The successful candidate will optimise liability matching, maximise the return on investment and the value of funds under management.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll be expected to:
- Develop and implement plans and strategies for the pension fund scheme and funds under management
- Assess, analyse and prepare investment and divestment proposals for approval by the investment committee
- Build and maintain expert knowledge of investment market developments that will affect local pension fund management
- Establish and maintain cordial and mutually beneficial business and professional relationships with financial intermediaries, stockbrokers, registrars, other stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
With a good university degree, and extensive experience as a qualified stock-broker, we’d also prefer you to be a chartered accountant. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification would be an advantage, and you’ll have good knowledge of Nigerian money and capital markets.
You should have working experience in a financial institution with responsibility for capital markets, institutional banking, corporate finance, performance assessment or financial control activities, while good interpersonal, team working, networking and negotiation skills are essential.

Requirements:
You should have a good law degree, substantial post-call experience with a reputable legal firm or in the oil industry, and a demonstrable track record of success in managing large litigation portfolios.
Good interpersonal and networking skills are essential, and as a good team player you’ll be a self-starter who requires minimum supervision.
A commercial mindset is essential, as is the ability to work with other professionals. Possession of an MBA or a similar professional qualification would be an added advantage.

Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company (SNEPCO) uses advanced cutting edge technologies in frontier deepwater areas of over 1,000 metres. The Bonga deepwater discovery made in 1995 increased Nigeria’s crude reserves by some 600 million barrels. SNEPCO is a rapidly growing company, and is made up of a range of large operated and non-operated deep and shallow water assets. The production operations support, plus well and reservoir surveillance, subsurface and well delivery work is currently being migrated from the global technical partners to Lagos-based staff.
We’re currently looking to recruit a Senior Subsea Intervention Engineer to join us in Lagos.
Responsibilities:
As Senior Intervention Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing activities required for the day-to-day operation of the Bonga underwater assets, including planning, inspection, maintenance and repair. This will include ROV and diving operations.
You’ll assure the overall subsea development system meets its design capabilities. This includes ensuring that the system performs to the customer’s expectations with regard to cost, schedule and quality.
We’ll also require you to:
- Coordinate the use of external and contract resources to support subsea activities
- Solicit and evaluate operations input
- Develop, control and update applicable cost estimates and schedules
- Develop and maintain applicable drawings and engineering design documents
- Share accountability for cost, schedule, safety, and reliability with the other team members
- Act as champion for opportunities to use Nigerian industry contract resources to support the engineering activities and develop indigenous expertise.
Requirements:
With a degree in a relevant discipline and 10-15 years’ experience in a subsea engineering environment, you’ll also have experience of ROV and diving operations.
You’ll have the ability to manage change in a multi-cultural environment, and you should also have the following competencies:
- Project management
- Planning, preparing and executing contracts
- Reviewing contractors’ performance
- Planning underwater inspection and intervention tasks
- Creating and managing change
- Driving down cost and cycle times.

The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the pioneer and leader of Nigeria’s petroleum industry. It has the largest acreage in the country and produces some 43 per cent of the nation’s oil.
The company’s operations are concentrated in the Niger Delta and adjoining shallow offshore areas where it operates in an area of around 31,000 square kilometres. SPDC has more than 6,000 kilometres of pipelines and flowlines, 87 flowstations, eight gas plants and more than 1,000 producing wells.
The company employs some 5,000 people directly, of whom 95 per cent are local employees. Another 20,000 people are employed indirectly through the network of companies, which provide supplies and services. Together with its Joint Venture Partners, SPDC produces an average of 1 million barrels of oil per day.
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for Contracting & Procurement for our companies in Nigeria, and aims to deliver what the business needs from our contractors for the exploration and production of oil and gas. 80% of our expenditure is through contracts with third parties, and we’re responsible for the execution of the entire process to put these contracts in place.
We’re involved in contract strategy development, invitation to tender preparation, tender evaluation, contract award and subsequent post contract management. Our activities span risk management, business improvement, Nigerian content and local capacity development, and we interact with many parts of the organisation to ensure that the supply chain adds value to the business.
SCM staff are encouraged to gain professional qualifications, primarily the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS). We’re currently looking to recruit two Nigerian Content Development Advisors to join us in Port Harcourt and Lagos.
Responsibilities:
As one of our Nigerian Content Development Advisors, we’ll expect you to:
- Review project plans to assure performance is measured against plans
- Collate monthly data on contracts from SAP and compute the Nigerian content spend
- Issue monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Prepare master procurement plans
- Produce an internal awareness campaign of processes, procedures and workshops
- Work on interface issues management
- Participate in the monitoring of meetings and visits
- Take responsibility for Nigerian content development specific partner issues, and coordinate the response to requests.
Requirements:
With a minimum of a second class BSc or LLB in a relevant discipline, you’ll be at an advantage if you have an MBA and membership of a professional Contracting & Procurement (CP) body such as CIPS. We’ll also expect you to have a minimum of six (6) years experience in a CP or SCM role.
